The current handicap symbol is limited to those with mobility impairment when only 10% of individuals with a disability are mobility impaired. The rest of the people suffering from disabilities are associated with the notion that in order to have a disability one must be in a wheelchair. In order to combat this stereotype, a new and more inclusive symbol is needed.
